On my Ubuntu (installed on my sda5), I have Linux kernel v 4.4.0-87 generic, according to the uname -r command.
The last message appear at the very end. I'm blocking on the message just after "Mounted kdeosiso volume successfully.".
So I think the problem is just the next line : "tpm_crb MSFT0101 :00: can't request region for resource..."
At this moment when this message appear, my computer start to process something (fans speed up). Few minutes later the three following lines appears successively.
About the Xorg, I don't think it's the problem, I think it's the consequence. I tried to start in console mode, but it didn't work, so maybe it blocked before I reach the point that give me the opportunity to start the live.
For trying this, I just added a 3 at the end of the line when I hit 'e', as you said, if it's right, then it didn't work, blocked at the same point.
I asked because I was thinking it's a problem you already know, but apparently, it's not. Sorry for wasting your time.
Then I made some search and it seems to be a "common" problem.
I didn't understand if it's the BIOS or the skylake CPU or the kernel, but apparently they fix it in the kernel, just check out links below. I'll continue to search on this.
Problem is, I don't know or even understand anything about this line (when I hit 'e' on the UEFI menu) and it looks to be the key of the problem...
That's weird because I tried to start live with new ubuntu usbkey (not the installed one on sda5) and I didn't have the problem, but some ubuntu forumreport this error too.. (https://askubuntu.com/questions/778832/16-04-wont-boot-after-latest-updates)
I don't understand why the current installed version could have impact on the one I try to install.
Thanks.
