Akregator has been very unreliable and buggy for me in KDE 5 to the point that I felt it necessary to look for a different solution. I'm now using QuiteRSS. It works, it's solid and it's written using Qt. I've been using it for a couple of months now and I'd love to see it taken into the Kaos repo.
QuiteRSS is under active development, the developers seem to be Russians. It doesn't look like a native KDE app, it could use some improvement on that front.
To check it out: get the source from https://quiterss.org/ , follow the instructions in the INSTALL file, note that Kaos uses qmake-qt5 as filename for the qmake program and import your feeds.
