Thanks so much for your prompt reply! I've tried a few different linux os's on this computer over the past few months (Elementary, OpenSUSE KDE, etc.) and had similar issues with the sound. I really like KaOS, though, so I'd like to make it work. As you said, perhaps it's the fact that this device was a chromebook that's causing the problems.
I finally had a chance to install the sof-firmware package (at least I'm pretty sure I did!) and restart as you suggested, but nothing seems to have changed.
If I install linux-next, does that decrease the stability of my current install? I'm hoping to make this computer my daily machine, so I need it to be reliable and stable, but I'm happy to help with testing to resolve this issue for me and possibly others. Can I install linux-next to help with testing and then un-install it once we've resolved the issue?
