If you are a Chrome user, you probably noticed that browsing is not possible today. You are presented with a complete transparent/empty Chrome window (some right click features might still work.
This is not caused by any KaOS update or change, but something that Google has changed.
There are already at least 3-4 bug reports open upstream, examples:
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1289217
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1289153
This is not just effecting Linux users, MacOS & Windows users are reporting seeing this too.
There are 2 workarounds possible, the 98 version of Chrome is not effected, so if you still have it in your cache:
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/google-chrome-98.0.4758.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
Or, remove/rename ~/.config/google-chrome-unstable/Local State
, Chrome will start fine now, but once that file is created again, restarting won't work, you will have to remove again.
