Hi, A friend of mine had a problem with his OS (Windows). He is trying to recover his files. For that, he ran a KaOS live cd (march 2015, I think), and tried to burn his files to DVDs. He ejected Kaos cd and inserted a blank cd, but the system wouldn't even read the unit, so he could do nothing.
I did a similar experiment in my computer (with KaOS installed and running smoothly). I started a live session from an old live cd (April 2014). There, I started K3B, eject the KaOS live disc and inserted a blank dvd. The blank cd was read, and K3B started burning (a 4.1 Gb set of files). But the process failed due to a "possible problem with the intermediate memory". When I ejected the failed dvd and re-inserted KaOS live cd, it could not be mounted (I tried several times). Applications refused to run, so I had to shut down the computer: the process initiated but failed, so I finally turn it off manually.
My questions are: Is it possible to eject the live cd and burn cds/dvds from a live session running on the ram memory? is it possible to recover the full functionality of the live session by re-inserting the live cd? should i try with a newer live cd, or it would be a useless effort?
Thanks a lot,
Pepun.
