demm Do you have Ark 15.08.xx in your /var/cache/pacman/pkg cache? It is an upstream bug in Ark 15.12.0, rar files no longer work. If you don't have it in your cache, use "unrar e archive_name.rar" in the directory of your .rar file until Ark is fixed.
pandalinux I have Ark-15.08.1-1/2-1 and 3-1; and ark-15.12.0-2/0-3 -x86_64.pkg.tar.xz; in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/
demm Issue was not really solved....you used a workaround :). But now (with your next update), it is truly solved, upstream committed the needed patch: Ark build 15.12.0-4 is build including that patch, extracting rar files works again.
