Beta for the latest KDE Applications was released today:

It is mostly build already for KaOS (and uploading right now).

A few more are now no longer git builds, but are included in the tar releases for kf5 apps. This includes ktp-call-ui & kmahjongg among others.

Not build yet is the entire kdepim group (that includes all the libs like kdepimlibs & about 22 new libs packages plus kdepim-rutime). This group includes about 50 packages now, and upstream has changed everything how they are build.

Expect this group to become available over the next several days.

Language packs will not be compiled at this time, expect thos to be added for the RC.

Also added to is a patched plasma-pa.

It brings support for switching streaming devices, something missing since the switch from kmix to plasma-pa in KaOS.

It is experimental at this stage, upstream won't release until plasma 5.7...

I'm already testing, everything seems right

It seems that even beta 16.04 of ktp-text-ui is not ready for Qt5.6.

Chat works here now, though the other party has to send a message first.....

Once you get a popup to reply to an incoming chat and hit reply, it shows the messages in the chat window.

It looks like the first run does not work.

When first we want to run the chat window is does not start fully, but if you then call up the chat window again, then is load completely.

Closing the chat window causes that you have to repeat the procedure.

Hi,

To install beta apps I understand that I need to install kdesrc-builb. Is that correct?

but to install kdesrc-build I need perl-io-socket-ssl and it need the dependence perl-io-socket-inet6 , that I don't find.

i would like test kdepim 16.3.80

thanks

All off KDEPim and libs is now up too. As far as I see, still no fix for the failing SMTP on outgoing messages in kmail.

No, see the topic, 16.04beta is up in kde-next. To use the kde-next repo you also need to enable build. These repos are NOT for end users wanting to get the latest/greatest, they are for those willing and capable to help with making sure major updates are fully tested before moving to all users. Things will go wrong, breakage will occur. All issues found are discussed in the build repo section on this forum, always subscribe to that forum if you use those repos, only way to communicate what is off and how to correct.

Hopefully a real fix:

Rebuild will up shortly with this patch

Fixed. Thank you very much.

ark 16.4 beta not work (extracting archive here, auto detect subfolder) for .deb archives in Dolphin

Also Kcalc does not start.

Re-added the Qt 5.6 workaround, so still not fixed proper for 16.04.....

but anyway, works again.

ark 16.4 beta not work (extracting archive here, auto detect subfolder) for .deb archives in Dolphin

No idea yet where this issue is, looks like an upstream change, might need to open a bug report for it.

19 days later

With KDE Applications 16.04.0 being tagged (and build for KaOS), time again to close the repo.

It is emptied out, all moved to the repo.

Make sure to edit your pacman.conf and comment out/remove the entries for the kde-next repo.

All issues except .deb for Ark no longer working seem fixed. All new ways for kdepim work properly, no more failures in any of the language packs.
