Hello,
I'm trying KaOS on my laptop which has an nvidia GeForce 860M video card. I'm selecting non-free nvidida driver on the boot menu of the install DVD made from the ISO. I'm runing inxi -G on the install DVD, before installing, and I'm geting "... Display Server: X.Org 1.18.3 drivers: nouveau, intel (unloaded: vesa) ... GLX Render: Mesa DRI Intel Haswell Mobile ...". Shouldn't it be nvidia instead of nouveau?. Main reason for this post is to report this.
Anyway, I proceeded with the installation. Fist attempt I ended up with a system stuck on a black screen with some text (the one before it switches to graphic mode for the login screen), after trying to install the -next kernel and nvidia driver (first sudo pacman -Syyu, then sudo pacman -Rdd libgl and sudo pacman -S linux-next nvidia nvidia-next and then added the necessary entries for my UEFI install. I didn't uninstall nouveau first because pacman -Qs xf86-video-nouveau didn't show nouveau was installed). Now I'm reinstalling to try again.
I'm new to KaOS. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Regards.
Vlad.
