Thank's for your reply.
Why needs ZFS to be supported in the used installer (Calamares) ?
The installer of Kubuntu/Ubuntu doesn't support the ZFS filesystem either. You can't make a root install to boot from a ZFS system, by now. But after you installed Ubuntu lets say in an ext4 partition already, you can go on, get ZFS from the Ubuntu repository, take another two hdds/ssds and mirror them with ZFS, for instance.
Then you are ready to move your /home on them and your data will be safe protected by ZFS, right away. And of course you can choose some raid level either, if you wish.
You can make that even in two slices, one of the same, and just one slice of another hdd/SSD, for instance.
So there is no need to wait until upstream implements that support to benefit from the ZFS filesystem in KaOS right now. Why should I boot from a zfs partition ? ext4 makes a great job on that. Calamares can stay for the moment without ZFS support, in my opinion. Maybe later, as an extra, like in Kubuntu.
Meanwhile I think, it will make plenty of sense to do it like the Ubuntu team already does.
It works. The user and the trade magazins have been be ungrudging it.
I just don't know exactly how I can bring this functionality to KaOS, by now. Of course I am knew to KaOS.
One Day, I will.
But meanwhile I will follow your suggestion and will be engaged in to it.
Any further suggestions are most welcome, of course. Then we could fasten things.
Thank's.
