My system is KaOS 2016.06 build+kde-next repos & full updated

Ark can't decompress .rar files, shows error:

"Ark no puede abrir archivo.rar. No se ha encontrado ningún complemento adecuado.
Parece que Ark no permite usar este tipo de archivo"

there is no problem with .zip files

decompress in terminal with unrar command works well

Ark is build with unrar, which is noted as the needed requirement for extracting rar files, from the packagers README:

  • unrar: to open and extract rar archives [RECOMMENDED, non-free]

Build log shows rar plugin is build, so this look like an upstream issue. Checked bug reports?

This is not an Ark issue, but shared-mime-info 1.7
Just checked with shared-mime-info 1.6-3 (from my cache), Ark works fine with .rar

It is an Ark issue, I found this commit:

Ark needs adjusting for this, done it for KaOS now and reported upstream, they will set this new IANA type.

ark 16.08.1-2 is fixed.
