Can either of you try to add a user with the KCM user module?
systemsettings > account details > user accounts, add user
If this fixes k3b, then the optical group is missing during the install of the system with Calamares.

If this only is an issue in kde-next, then probably a rebuild needed for new Qt.

I can't. Error: "Failed to add user".

Then open your current user, highlight account type, mark show groups and add optical to your user groups.

demm Then open your current user, highlight account type, mark show groups and add optical to your user groups.

    Error: "Failed to set groups!"

    Post the output of:

    pacman -Q libburn

if not installed, do so, let me know if that fixes. Issue is fixed here. (both libburn added and user added to the optical group)

EDIT: removed my user from the optical group, still fine. So make sure libburn is installed.

Seems all of you have no interest in helping to fix.....
I cannot reproduce with the [build] repo enabled. So unless any of you will actually give some full answers, and debug output, issue is considered solved.

    Hi,

sorry, I was a lot busy...

    pable@joey ~> groups

    libburn 1.4.6-1
    pable@joey ~> pacman -Q plasma-workspace
    plasma-workspace 5.8.5-1

Please let me know if I can provide more info

    Thank you a lot!

      Hi,

system-settings->account details->user accounts, add user doesn't work for me, it asks the administration password twice but then nothing happens, no errors.

I've added the new user using the command line and I've added this to the optical group, but it doesn't solve the problem.

      Thank you
      Paolo

Sorry, no idea then. All works fine here. Your logs don't give any clue either.

Might help to see the full system output. Octopi > Tools > SysInfo

If possible, try the latest ISO in Live mode.

In IRC some could reproduce and I got much needed feedback. Seems this is an upstream issue. Went back to the last known good commit, September 23 2016 and build with that, should be fixed, please test too:

      sudo pacman -U http://kaosx.tk/repo/build/k3b-1%3A2.9.96-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

if good, then it will move asap to all users

      It's working ok here.

It works perfectly now!!! Thank you very much!

      Paolo

      Just done! Thanks!!

      Cheers
