Hi Everyone,

Fresh KAOS user - just landed on it :)! Excellent impression so far.

One thing - I tried to install the terminal utility "hdparm" I am using this command to set the power management level for my laptop hard-drive to 128.

Here is a link to the Arch wiki-page (I know that KAOS Linux is not Arch :)).

Without this utility, my hdd is keep spining down and than up which is for sure not good for its lifecycle (the APM level is in this case based on my experience - 96 instead of 128, while 96 is suitable for the batter mode only).

Thanks in advance for adding this or telling me how I can alter the power management level without hdparm.

I will keep exploring the system,

Cheers,

Razvan

Good suggestion, will be added asap.

As for Wikis, Arch is the standard for Wiki for almost anyone you ask about the best place for info, that is also why you don't see a Wiki here, just some KaOS specific tutorials, for the rest, I hope, those willing to contribute to the community as a whole to improve, collaborate on the Arch Wiki. You don't need to be an Arch user to help keep that Wiki the best it can be.

Thanks Demm!

Really apreciate your super quick response :) It is good to see that my request is welcomed.

I totally agree about the Arch wiki :) that is the reason I am using it for a lot of stuff.

By the way - just another thing that I noticed - if I plug my headphones and play some music I will hear the music only on the left channel, no right channel; I tried the audio setup for the right in KDE is not playing the sound.

My audio card is an Intel integrated:

00.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 06)

Thanks a lot !
