Hi KaOS crowd,
I am trying to configure my wireless printer (the scanner part works fine via Skanlite) but I'm having some trouble. I have looked through related posts with Canon printer issues but haven't found a solution yet. I am also a little confused with all the options and would appreciate your help.
CUPS sees my printer over the network and gives me two options:
- Canon MX920 series
- Canon MX920 series (driverless)
On the list of Canon drivers I get these entries:
- Canon MX920 series - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.12 (en)
- Canon MX920 series, driverless, cups-filters 1.13.4 (en)
Scenario 1:
Choosing "MX920 series" and "CUPS+Gutenprint" option I get this error when trying to print a test page: "Unable to locate printer "82F364000000.local"
Scenario 2:
Choosing "MX920 series" with "driverless cups-filters" returns: "Unable to copy PPD file."
Scenario 3:
Providing a PPD file I obtained from here gives a printer status of "File /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstocanonij not available: Not such file or directory"
I assumed that since my printer is recognized (scenario 1 & 2), there should be no further dependency requirements correct? But then I came across this link which shows a bunch of 32-bit packages to install the required Canon filters.
Thanks,
Erik
