Hello,

I have been playing with KaOS since January primarily because it looks good and pleasant to my eyes, and because it's linux. It seems however that every time I encounter something beautiful it also messed me up. Case in point with KaOS. In my regular workstation(HP z420,amd Fire Pro w9100 graphics) it installs using 6-2017 installer not 9,2017. And after pacman -Syu on 6-2017 installed system, it kernel panics on reboot (no RAID, just one disk). I did install twice just to make sure - same result. The 9-2017 won't install at all. Second, on an alienware 17 R3 laptop (nvidia 980M), last April it installed using 4-2017 I think using free driver, and X wouldn't display after reboot when I installed non-free nvidia. I persist because it's beautiful, but my 3-d graphics app is slow for nouveau. Damn. KaOS is installed and working for now on my lenovo thinkpad w520 with nvidia quadro 1000M but using nouveau. Also the non-free driver for AMD Fire Pro W9100 I couldn't find a port for KaOS. I really like the idea in KaOS that you can install non-free nvidia during first install. Very few distro do that and only one distro works all the time I tried and is not KaOS. It is Elive, beautiful distro but just 32-bit only distro. Next time I'm bored will try KaOS again perhaps with 11-2017 installer when available. Perhaps.
