Tout d'abord, veuillez m'excuser d'écrire en Français, mais c'est hélas la seule langue que je pratique!
Découvrant KaOS aujourd'hui, j'aurais certainement bientôt besoin de conseils que je viendrais chercher ici, et j'espère qu'il y a des "francisants" sur ce forum.
Au pire, j'utiliserai un traducteur, en espérant me faire comprendre!
Utilisateur du monde Linux depuis une vingtaine d'années, je suis actuellement avec Manjaro/Kde depuis 5 ans environ.
Si jusqu'à présent j'étais très satisfait de cette distribution, depuis quelques temps des modifications dans son fonctionnement ne me satisfont plus.
Pour n'en citer qu'une, l'obligation de fournir son mot de passe pour l'ouverture d'un périphérique (DD) au lancement du system. Mais il y en a d'autres!
Du coups, j'ai commencé à chercher ailleurs, et me voici chez KaOS pour voir si elle va me convenir.

Je précise que je ne suis, ni un champion, ni un adepte de la ligne de commande, même si je l'utilise en cas de besoin.
Mon utilisation quotidienne, internet, les mails, un peu de multimédia et quelques jeux.

Voilà pour cette première prise de contact, je vais à présent explorer mon nouvel univers!

            Hello, and sorry to answer so late, but I preferred to wait until I discovered KaOS a little deeper before continuing, but if I can understand your point, I still find that for some distributions the help forums where we only practice English don't encourage the use of the latter... Of course, as you say, there are the translators, and the one I use, "Deepl" is probably the best, but you will admit that to try to solve a major problem, it's not the most practical. For example, just to answer you, it takes me twice as long, so I know that people are volunteers and you can't ask them for the moon, but in the case of this forum, I'm especially wondering if there are many French-speaking users or not. So far I've managed to manage, but I admit I'm going to have trouble using KaOS on a daily basis if I have too many problems to report here, but thanks for your answer.

                alkiros If everyone use their native language, this forum would be unusable. I guess you don't know Swedish, right? That's why I don't wrote in Swedish. You still can post in your language, and just attach a translation to it, that just take a second or two.

                Most forum's uses English because it's most commonly used in the computer world, Ubuntu, XDA Developers, Arch, Kali Linux, Expert Exchange etc etc.. There are ofcource localised forums to, probably lot of generic French Linux forums to. Lot of questions here can also be found on other Linux forums.

                  alkiros Alors Alkiros, où en es-tu ? Cette Kaos est bien hein ! Découverte aussi il y a quelques mois. Ce sont les choix faits qui m’y ont fait venir. Le fait que tous les paquets de base ne soient que des paquets KDE.
                  Et Demm est très réactive, c’est du joli boulot.

                      Désolé de répondre si tard, mais pas trop devant l'ordi ces derniers jours!
                      C'est vrai que cette distribution me plait bien avec son environnement tout KDE.
                      Mais je ne suis pas sur de la garder car pour moi, l'usage exclusif de l'anglais sur le forum est très pénible. Même à l'aide du très bon traducteur qu'est "Deepl", si ça n'est pas trop handicapant pour de petites demandes d'aide, c'est tout de suite très lourd dès qu'il faut développer.

                      Je pense rester avec KaOS encore quelques mois, mais si je ne peux trouver d'aide en français, je laisse tombé et retourne à la Manjaro.
