I should have explained this better. I type a lot and prefer to work on a gaming keyboard. Those usually come with backlit keys which illuminate not just the letters, but also the area below/underneath the keys.
Mine is a Razer Chroma something and to set it up in W10, I need to install a ~260 Meg software package.
I'm a typist and don't need to see the keys lit up but by default, they are on some wave pattern that cycles trough the light spectrum which is annoying. I still have a minimal W10 install which I don't use but need to set the keys to a static green color. For some reason, rebooting does not change this setting.
No Linux distro recognizes Razer gaming products and they make some packages available for some distros. I was never able to set this up under Linux and just wanted to state that I can live without that.
This is kind of what I have: https://www.razer.com/ca-en/gaming-keyboards
It looks pretty but most importantly, it is great to type on.
I just finished a blog post about KaOS
