I mean I know it gets pointed out over and over, that this is not a standard distro in the forums. I tend to think that people get frustrated and go away, without giving it a chance first, to decide if they DO like it.
And I'm new to the distro, so I'm green and don't know the past history.
I am aware somewhat of what it takes to run a community 'service' and I always want to give kudos to someone who does this. They tend to take lots of flak and receive very little thanks for it.
As a testimonial, I'm very happy with the software direction, speed and memory usage. I totally understand the direction of one toolset and one DE. If only we had a really good QT open source browser 🙁
The first time I booted the disto, I was like 'why the heck is the panel on the far right..never seen that before?'. However, in a short period, I realized it makes a lot of sense. I had never thought before about the screen real estate, and putting a panel on top or bottom makes so many pixels unavailable for applications. Right or left therefore would make the most sense. And I find the first place I want to align apps is the left hand side, so the panel or dock is probably best on the right hand side. Therefore, I've come to appreciate the design decisions as well.
I'm new enough that the only name I recognize is Demm, but I'm sure there are other folks out there making this distro work. Thanks to you all.
