I am not sure the tags fit, but the best I could come up with.
Anyway, I was idle yesterday and re-read articles about NTP being EOL (more or less) and full of bugs and security risks without real further development going forward.
Looking into the alternative, the most obvious answer I found was chrony, which seems to implement the range of NTP functionality except for hardware clocks (which admittedly most people running KaOS probably wouldn't have), it's lighter, simpler, but pretty much a drop in replacement. I had no issues compiling and replacing NTP in the system.
I'm not really advocating, but sort of suggesting maybe that it might be considered to replace NTP in the distro?
