When I open a file with VLC, it will never close. It remain in the tray, and never close in anyway.
Even if I try with Ksysguard to terminate the process, it will never close.
The worst thing is that I can even open other files with it. It remain stuck.
You will have to be less cryptic to get help....
What kind of files, music, video, file extension? Can you reproduce with a new, clean user? When did this start? What is the VLC output when started from cli when this occurs?
Very strange thing with an mp4 video file. Opening from Dolphin folder, it play correctly but then never close it in the tray. Otherwise from CLI it close correctly.
From CLI I can see some error:
glconv_vaapi_x11 gl error: vaInitialize: unknown libva error
glconv_vaapi_drm gl error: vaInitialize: resource allocation failed
glconv_vaapi_drm gl error: vaInitialize: operation failed
