shalokshalom Since the last update, no sound is available anywhere. Here is the pacman log: https://pastebin.com/VUNbdw6J Octopi sysinfo: https://pastebin.com/g8szdssj See here, Firefox is running and it shows no entry: https://i.imgur.com/AtaXcGg.jpg And I tried it with SMPlayer, which freezes completely. Before the update, all worked perfectly fine.
shalokshalom The whole system bugs out. Sound worked for a second or two at the third restart, network issues, Firefox freezes and Octopi crashed
demm Journal shows 2 issues, I doubt the BIOS error is the cause, more likely the USB (similar to this? https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1114442-start-0.html) Unplug the USB sound/camera device, those errors look worse, see if that changes any. Of course, none of the above matters, if you recently did a manual BIOS update.
shalokshalom demm I do that tomorrow morning Just for clearification: I already had that camera using here and it did work great. It does happen to bug out on Kamoso, but did and does work on Jitsi. thanks for your support
shalokshalom Yeah, the cam bugged the whole system, its totally fine now and the system works flawlessly Edit: It is the upgrade of linux-firmware that could have caused this?
demm That looks like a kernel bug/change then, that is the only thing in your update that is related to that device. Can you check linux-next? I will check upstream bug reports too, undoubtedly more will be effected with 5.11.16. To see if it is linux-firmware, just pacman -U the previous version from your /var/cache/pacman/pkg cache.
shalokshalom I dont have that anymore in my cache. Idk why, the cache cleaner is set on 0 and I could swear, I didnt set that. No sound with linux-next either.
demm Pipewire was not part of that update, 0.26 was from early April, not a single issue reported or detected, certainly not the cause of an USB device failing.
