demm Hi, I downloaded the AppImage for both Calibre and Peruse. I couldn't get Peruse to work out of the box due to some missing xcb plugin or something, I haven't really tried to fix it yet, I probably just have to install some missing library.
As for Calibre, I was actually able to run it successfully and open one of my cbz comics without any issue.
The only thing is it doesn't seem to have its own comic reader built in, when I click on a comic book in the Calibre library, it opens up in the Evince document viewer which comes with Gnome on Fedora. I'm guessing on KDE it'll make use of Okular which means I probably won't even have to install Calibre, I could just use Okular directly.
Unfortunately Calibre crashed when I tried to open my zip archive which is around 3.5gb and is made up of a collection of some 13,000 JPG images (it's a complete manga), that's probably because Evince doesn't recognize the zip format. I'm able to open this archive without issue in Mcomix.
I only have 1 manga/comic in this format so it's not a huge deal, the rest of my comics are in CBZ or CBR.
I'm around 4,500 pages into the manga right now, I think it'll be easier if I just read through the entire thing on Fedora before looking at changing distros.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your help and suggestions, I'll definitely consider moving to Kaos when I'm ready 🙂
