Hello.
I have an HP EliteBook 850 G3 with Windows 11 installed. I decided to install KaOS alongside it. I divided the partitions, ran the process through Calamares and during the installation, about halfway through after copying the installer files, I get the error:
Wystąpił błąd Boost.Python w zadaniu "userkf5".

<div><strong>&lt;class 'AttributeError'&gt;</strong></div><div>'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group'</div><div><br/>Traceback:</div><div><pre>File &quot;/usr/lib/calamares/modules/userkf5/main.py&quot;, line 129, in run
print (m.group(0))</pre></div>

Unfortunately, I am unable to complete the installation.

I presume the installation media was an USB stick, but not created in a supported way. Rufus?
See (and see the warning):
https://kaosx.us/docs/usb_flash/

Also, what ISO was used? Dated name please.

I'm beating my chest, it was Rufus.

Unfortunately the link to ImageWriter leads nowhere (error: 404).
Then I will check the dd method.

It was an iso image:

KaOS-2023.11-x86_64

Please test one more time with Rufus, there have been reports it works correctly with Rufus in DD mode, but not enough feedback to add it to the docs yet.
Also, docs have been updated in git, not on the site yet (will do shortly):
https://kaosx.github.io/docs/usb_flash/
imagewriter removed, new option added.

I tried again with Rufus in dd mode. This time, the installation process went without errors. Unfortunately, after restarting the system, the computer starts immediately to Windows.

I chose Refind as the bootloader.

Maybe it would be possible to get started without another complete reinstallation?

To help with that, more system info will be needed, starting with the installation.log.
Re-installing won't help, there are numerous settings in which Windows completely overrides any other OS, the install will be there, but without knowing the setup, hard to say if the correct drive is booted, if secure mode is active or any other of the half dozen options that are possible.

I can say that there is some progress. I looked into the bios again, I uncheck the option

Management Command System

And a Refind bootloader appeared to my eyes, unfortunately there was only one system to choose from, KaOS. And cool, just how to start Windows now?

installation.log

I think I messed something up during installation.
