I've installed a new 1Tb Samsung NVME M2 990 Pro SSD and installed the July KAOS_20240712 ISO. All fully updated and all OK apart from slow opening of Dolphin.
There is about 7-8 second delay after opening it and the folders showing, during which it is not usable. I've investigated all (I think) possible causes to no avail.
Today I installed KaOS to another partition and there is still a brief pause on the folders appearing, about 1 sec. on this partition.
Krusader is instant in opening and all other KaOS or Arch installations show no problems.

My question is:- Could this be due to the sector size being 512, where as it appears that it should be 4096 according to "Advanced Format, NVME_Solid state Drives" on the Arch Wiki.?
Alternatively has anyone any further suggestions.
Thanks.

A 7-8 second delay is slow enough that it has to be due to errors, so the log will show something. Did you open dolphin through cli, so you get feedback? If not, try that first, otherwise, check the journal for any entries while you open dolphin.

As I had it installed twice and no change in the opening speed I shall reformat, re-download and re-install.
There were no errors showing with "journalctl -b" or with using "strace -C /usr/bin/dolphin /home/johnny |& tee /var/tmp/dolphin-home1b.log". I re-installed most of kde and erased all record of Dolphin before reinstalling.
All attempts have failed so I'll start again.
Thanks.
Note: I installed Manjaro to test and no problem.

Update: Problem occurs when enabling "systemd-resolved" .
I've been using it on other systems with "Nordvpn" and "NetworkManager" with no problems, although not tried "Nordvpn" on this system yet. Will have to look more closely at my files.
