Video review by Jupiter Broadcasting, I haven't seen it yet:
I listen to the whole broadcast and finally the KaOS review around 50 minutes or so as stated on my browser but I forget exactly when it started.
The review was pretty sad really, Ron (one reviewer) claimed Arch based and for some reason was compelled to make fun of the browser situation right away. I did not even know there was a problem but it seems something was off because of the use of qupzilla? I did and do find it weird that there is a default browser that I can not even find who makes it or what it is it's purpose.
I heard the same things I and everybody has griped about, the installer is confusing and sucks.
The install actually failed live for the host of the show, bummer. I have no idea what the situation was because once it failed he closed the VM right quick.
There was the normal compliant that someone could not install Steam..... etc, People need to read more.
There was a panelist that did not like KDE and he had many faults with the general theme of things of course.
There was a Qt/plasma developer there and he gave a slightly more neutral review. He also talked about plasma 5 and how cool it should/could be.
Basically, the review was bad. The good thing is that everyone already knows about the problems and are working to solve them.

Interesting that ZDNET lists KaOS as one of 4 to use for KDE........

I wrote a brief review:
Nice to hear from you again 2handband, it has been a few years :)
Good/accurate review, great to see the limitations of this distro clearly mentioned.
Just to make sure you know, KaOS is in the process to fully move to frameworks 5/plasma 5/ KDE Applications based on those.
Target is to have it completely replace KDE 4 by late February (work for this started May last year, big difference here is, nothing is packaged to mix and match kde4 and kf5, it will be pure kf5).
And in case you do stick around with KaOS, the Guide you wrote in 2011 (complete kde 4 guide) was great. If you ever feel like doing that again for Plasma 5, it will prominently added to the KaOS website.
Hey, demm... was that your handle back in the Chakra days? I'm struggling through the fog trying to remember you (amongst other things I was going through a nasty divorce at the time, so a lot of things are a bit hazy).
Anyway, just a few hours after posted that review this morning I got an offer to start giving some distance lessons via Skype again, so I'm probably going to have to put something else on my main machine. I really do like KaOS and am hoping to be able to use it in some capacity or another, though. I am indeed planning a full-blown set of new KDE tutorials once plasma 5.2 hits the streets, and since KDE is largely KDE regardless of distro it'll be as applicable to KaOS as anything else. I will keep you informed no matter what I end up using.
