Hi:
Congratulations on what looks like a really fine distro. I downloaded the 2014-12 ISO yesterday, and poked around the distro in live mode. Today I tried to install it in my test partition without success. I have three partitions on this laptop, one is Windows 8.1, one is Netrunner 14, and the third is a test partition that has seen many distros installed on it. It has a 300mb /boot partition, a small swap, and 50GB root partition. During the installation, I told it to format the two partitions, and load grub in the /boot partition, that happens to be sda10. It went to the next screen, which showed me the partitions, then to the screen that asked for my name, etc.
An error message came up that it "Failed to create filesystem on sda10." I clicked "ok," and the installation aborted. I got this message before with both Netrunner Rolling and Manjaro, but both installed into the /boot partition anyway. I don't want to put grub in the boot sector, I wish to use EasyBCD to choose distro's. I've had several flavors of Linux in this partition, most without incident.
If I can't do this with KaOS, so be it. I'll have to find another way to install it, but if there's something I should try, I will.
On edit: Sorry, non-UEFI laptop, Dell Inspiron. 500GB hd, 6GB ram.
Thank you for your reply, and for the distro, which looks great.
