Hello,
I just set up my new computer and I wanted to intall the really good program "Vuescan" from Hamrick Software, but it doesn't function under KaOS. The error-message is:

error while loading shared libraries: libusb-0.1.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Ok, I understand that this library is not installed. I have tried to install libusb 1.0.20-1, but same error! Which packages have I to install to run this program, or is it necessary to compile this program new? I have found this program in the arch-repro, too , but can I install arch-programs in KaOS???

Thanks
mike

Vuescan isn't on repos of KaOS... You installed it from aur? Although KaOS uses pacman and pkgbuilds, that doesn't mean that you can make work packages of arch here. You can make a request for that package on kcp (you need libusb-compat for make work that package... it is on kcp). Read this please: https://kaosx.us/about/based/
And here some more info of kcp and how to build packages: https://kaosx.us/docs/package/
Bye! 😃

There are many, many warnings all over the KaOS site, this is NOT Arch based, not compatible.
What you are doing is complete unsuported and WILL break your install.

If you want to use Arch, install Arch or an Arch derivative, KaOS is complete wrong for you.

Closing this topic now, installing packages from another distro does not receive support here.

Read the above linked Packaging Guide and open a new topic if you need help with building.
