Nothing has helped!
When I removed krita.mo, build the database new and tried to install again, there are similar errors from a cups-file and then one from plasma,.... and so on.
I have complete remove kaos and has installed from scratch with the newest ISO.
Hmmh, perhaps Kaos has a problem with virtual-machines--> I have installed it into VirtualBox.
No matter, now Kaos is back an my machine and everything is ok again.

Yes Sir
Hallo,
I have an NAS in my Homenetwork and before my transition from OSX to Linux I have had an WOL-Client on my Apple-Machine to start my NAS from hibernation. Despite seeking I cannot find something similar for Linux/KDE. Does someone know such an Client or plasmoid for KDE or is there an cli-command (I would prefer a graphical client).
Thanks@demm
Sorry for misunderstanding demm. I did not tried to intall vuescan over a arch repository, I had downloaded the *.tgz file directly from its homepage.
But the tip from loopset to install libusb-compat over kcp had solved the problem. With this package vuescan had started and everything is ok now.
I love it when things work
Pity.... so I have to install the whole programs
.
Thanks

Ok, when I start from cli, kjots starts.
This is what cli says:[krieger@Erde ~]$ kjots Invalid framesize. Shortcut for action "format_text_bold" "&Fett" set with QAction::setShortcut()! Use KActionCollection::setDefaultShortcut(s) instead. But when I try to start Kjots from the K-Menu, it ends whitout starting
Well, I want a notes-programm and for that I installed kjots. But after installation it doesn't start. I don't know where to search or whre I can find logs for this programstart. Can anybody help me? KaOs is up-to-date.
I'm looking for KAddresBook, but only can find it, when I install kdepim. I don't want all this pim-programs, I only need the Addressbook. So is it possible to install it alone?

Hello,
I just set up my new computer and I wanted to intall the really good program "Vuescan" from Hamrick Software, but it doesn't function under KaOS. The error-message is:error while loading shared libraries: libusb-0.1.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Ok, I understand that this library is not installed. I have tried to install libusb 1.0.20-1, but same error! Which packages have I to install to run this program, or is it necessary to compile this program new? I have found this program in the arch-repro, too , but can I install arch-programs in KaOS???
Thanks
mikeHello loopset, hello demn
command back, it works
.
At this moment I write this answer with KaOS on my T460s. Well, what have I done.... I looked at the partition table, how it shows when I press the button "Erase disk". Then I press the "Manuell" Button and delete the Swap-Partition and go on. Now the Installer works well.
There was no partition on the SSD, the notbook was new without an OS.I'm not sure whether calamares has not problems with too many primary partitions, but for me this workaround works. I have 12 GB RAM, so I don't think I will need a swap-partition. However I'm lucky now and many many thanks for this wonderful Distribution. It runs like clockwork

Thanks loopset
first of all sorry for the late answer... . Here in germany my Internet-Provider has had an disruption for nearly 20h! Service desert germany !!!
OK, the installation guide I already knew and I had read this carefully. But it's an older guide and the new calamares looks something different. An other user seems to has a similar problem, here did it help to erase one partition - the swap partition. The user wrote, that calamares has problems with more than 3 or 4 primary partition. Puhhh, I'm a beginner and I don't understand what to do to build the partition manually for a UEFI-System. I thought to take the default partition would be the easiest way but this resulting in the error !
If it would be possible to set pictures in the forum, I would take same screenshots to explain what I mean, but didn't find a possibility nor a guide for this forum.
Hello,
I'm a new user from germany and tries the first time KaOS. My last Computer was a MacBook Pro and now it's time to change. My knowledge with linux is minimal, a few years ago I have installad Suse-linux and a few Debian-Installation, so I know a little about apt-get but nothing about arch.
Today my new notebook arrived - a Lenovo T460s i5 with a 256GB M.2 PCIe-x4 SSD Samsung SM951 and 12 GB DDR4 RAM - really a great notebook.
So, my first action was to install the new KaOS on this notebook... but this faild with following error-message:Boost.Python-error in Job "bootldr".
<class 'FileNotFoundError'>
[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/tmp/calamares-root-vfwp29zv/boot/loader/entries/KaOS_2016.06.conf'

with open(conf_path, 'w') as f:I have really no idea what went wrong, nor what to do now.
Can someone help me what to do?Thanks a lot
mike
