Make sure it is the update, install an older chrome version from your pacman cache.

I'm not using the build repo

google-chrome 58.0.3018.3-1 can't play gifs (didn't try youtube)
google-chrome 58.0.3013.3-1 works fine

58.0.3018.3-1 broken gifs and html5 video

mendez Solution is reverting chrome to the previous version (you will find it into your pacman's cache, simply install it with pacman -U) You can add it to IgnorePkg in your pacman.conf to avoid its update until the issue its solved.

To all, waiting one more day, chrome should have a new version then, if not than an older, working version will be uploaded.

    With 58.0.3026.3-1 still broken.

Can any of you try and use the modestting driver instead of intel? Just remove xf86-video-intel and reboot, that will load the modesetting driver.

I'm on modesetting driver for months.

Disabling "Hardware Acceleration" in chrome, fixes video.

I'm experience the same now with last update. Disabling "Hardware Acceleration" fixes video, indeed.

    9 days later

alexandremig Not fixed in the last update.

This looks like an upstream change and won't be reverted in chrome, so expect to disable hardware acceleration on Intel systems until this is fixed by intel/the kernel.

    Now is Ok:
Con la última actualización de Google Chrome el problema ha desaparecido, al menos en mi instalación.

I can confirm, it's fixed now with the last Chrome update.
