Time again to use the [kde-next] repo. Qt.5.9 beta3 is already up there. So is a complete rebuild of Frameworks 5.34.0.
Plus Plasma 5.10 beta will be available in kde-next too.
Rebuilds are still ongoing, so expect some breakage. Make sure to note here any issues you may find, so all needed rebuilds will be found as soon as possible.

Enable by adding kde-next above build in your pacman.conf, and have them above all. Please, if you do not know how to edit your pacman.conf, then do not use kde-next, editing pacman.conf is by far the simplest part of helping with testing.

KTP probably needs rebuilding for new qtwebengine.

          dhrac Like demm says, it's not a good idea to use the testing repos if you don't know how to add it. Since it's main purpose is to help on finding problems (with their respective logs) to fix before releasing to the base repos 😅

            Qt 5.9.0beta4 was released today, now up in kde-next.
            No rebuilds done for this yet, hopefully not needed.

            Issue with fonts is now solved with qt5.9beta4 🙂

            Two bugs remain after the beta4 update, one is a still broken QtCurve, version in kde-next will be removed, qtdbus fixes in qt5-base do not help so will stick with last known good commit as used in the version in the apps repo.
            Second bug still there is empty Recent Files/Programs in all menus, except kickoff (kicker, full screen are affected)

            A test ISO is uploaded based on kde-next.
            This is a minimal ISO with very few apps added, basically it is just to test Qt 5.9beta and Plasma 5.10beta.

            As always with these kinds of test ISO, ISO is build using the [build] and [kde-next] repos, but those are not enabled in the pacman.conf. So if you decide to install this ISO you will need to add those repos to your pacman.conf.
            If you do not know how to do this, DO NOT install this ISO, just check it in Live mode only.

            Known issues:

            • Seems Plasma 5.10 defaults to Folder view as default, ISO settings will be adjusted to go back to regular desktop view on a next build
            • In live mode menu items Recent used and Recent files are empty/greyed out, plasma-desktop was patched for this, but seems changes needed for Live mode.

            Yesterday Qt 5.9.0RC2 was released & build in kde-next. This RC is going to be released as 5.9.0 final tomorrow by Qt, so all in kde-next will now move to the build repo.

            Once Qt 5.9.0 final has gone through the usual testing it will move to all users. Since all of KDE (Frameworks, Plasma 5.10 & Kde Apps) is build on new Qt, all will move together.
            ISO testing is part of making sure Qt is ready, so this whole move also depends on the new ISO being ready.

            Expect to see this big update in 5-7 days.
