Hi,

Conversion of .heic photos (standard format from iPhones and recent Samsung phones) to .jpg works on Manjaro and Debian with installation of "libheif-examples" and / or "libheif", but these libraries and command are not install-able on KAOS.

Neither imagemagick 7.1.0.62-2 and ffmpeg cannot do these conversions on KAOS.

I downloaded libheif-1.15.1.tar.gz from https://github.com/strukturag/libheif/releases/tag/v1.15.1, but I got compile errors.

""heif-test.go:39:2: no required module provides package github.com/strukturag/libheif/go/heif: go.mod file not found in current directory or any parent directory; see 'go help modules'

Anyone have any fixes or workarounds for .heic to .jpg conversions on KAOS ?

Thanks!
Rock.

If that is now the standard, then libheif needs to be added to the repo, and common image format converters will be rebuild with that new depend.
Expect libheif to be available shortly (first build repo only, some testing will be needed).
