Just updated the system following system tray Octopi notifier and got the following warning written in red:

warning: /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc installed as /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc.pacnew

Is this something to worry about?

Thanks for clarifying.

Any package with a configuration file that is part of a backup setting gets that warning. Up to you to check the diffs, and see if you want to merge some new settings with your own. This time, no change to that file, so nothing to merge (unless you never merged before and install is quite old).

You had the same warning lately for filesystem updates to name another.

This is not an old install. This is a recent install of the August ISO.
