Probably I should uninstall libre and try the in-house calligra.
Peace.

Sorry for being cheeky, but wouldn't it be good if you can kind of sandbox a stable release of libreoffice and place it in kcp? It would also save you and everyone else good amount of bandwidth.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
Is there any way to withhold the update of Libreoffice during every update? I do use it, but feel it is sufficient to update every two months or so as the updates are a bit large to justify the added features and bug fixes. Kindly advice.
Mighty mighty thanks...
I think it does look promising. Should I retain the change?

I'm running Kaos installed on my hd. I'm connected directly to the internet (ADSL Modem). I have no proxy servers and stuff like that.
Well, I don't know what to make of this after I do sudo pacman -Syu :

But interestingly, the Octopi does not tell me anything.
Yes, I did. As you can see, I entered the default options (so, N for the first and Y for the second). The cache is around 4.2gb and I was scared I would have to download all of it again!

I'm not comfortable to do the third bit unless you lead me step by step :
Thanks.
This is what I get when I do sudo pacman -Syu. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

@demm : thanks for the info. I didn't check the last time the package was updated. I apologize for it.
@anika200 : thanks for seconding the software. I did make use of it when I was on Kubuntu. I sort of miss it.
I could not find BasKet Note Pads in your repository. Do you have a plan to include it? I know there are alternatives but I'm enamoured by something specific to KDE.
KaOS is my main distro. Though, off and on, I use Elementary OS. EOS comes with 'Preload' preloaded, which makes applications open in a snap. I wonder if there is such a thing in KaOS.
Yes, I found them to have been already installed. I did a reinstall too but with no luck.
I instead installed soundKonverter, converted the wma files to ogg and Amarok had no difficulty in playing them.
Thanks, nevertheless.
I am not able to play wma files in Amarok, although I am able to in VLC. Is there anything I should do to make it work in Amarok?
Yes, installing gst-plugins-bad worked! Although gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins didn't. Just for your info : the media-center hasn't been functioning from the day one (it still isn't). I shall post this again in the appropriate section though. I thought I shall do it here, just in case you can find some connection.
Many thanks! I am truly enjoying this slick distro!! Good luck!
Sorry to have put you off!
By last update I meant the update that I had done a couple of days back, when the pacman threw up a message telling me that gstreamer0.10-good-plugins and the current update are in conflict. That's the reason I continued on this thread.
Meanwhile, as suggested by you, I checked if the mp3 files that I tried to play could play in smplayer. Yes, it did! Meanwhile, Amarok & Juk plays ogg files.
So, what is that I should do so that Amarok plays mp3 files? I reinstalled Amarok too but with no luck. This is the cli o/p ( I have not included the "amarok --debug" o/p as it is pretty lengthy :
[tadvrat@kaos ~]$ amarok
Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceAdded(QString)
Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceRemoved(QString)
amarok(4660)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
QWidget::insertAction: Attempt to insert null action
amarok(4660)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
**********************************************************************************************
** AMAROK WAS STARTED IN NORMAL MODE. IF YOU WANT TO SEE DEBUGGING INFORMATION, PLEASE USE: **

[tadvrat@kaos ~]$ "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<lfm status="failed">
<error code="6">

</error>
</lfm>
"
Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing.
Since the last update, I've not been able to play any audio files in Amarok. I did uninstall clementine along with gstreamer0.10-good-plugins as outlined above, but with no luck. Any help will be deeply appreciated.
I hear the infinality fonts makes the fonts and their rendering look much better. Would it be difficult to include that in octopi?
