Guys, I love KaOs, its great operational system I have been using, but I'm with a little trouble/needs. I'm needing install one windows program, the Proteus ISIS/ARES. For make pcb layouts and simulating electronic circuits like vacuum tubes or digital circuits.

Any help for I can Install this program in KaOs. Thanks

Linux alternatives and available here are Qucs (in the repositories) and Kicad (in KCP).

Definitely this -> fancy gui, big database.

Ah, missed that this third option is available too, see in

Both kicad & fritzing are there.

Ok. I forgot explain the board maker only can handle the Proteus Isis/Ares files and use ares 4th dimensions matrix to make a pcb board.

There is no LInux version for that, so only option here is to virtualize Windows:

Try with a Windows 7 or above image.

It might have some functions working when using Wine on Linux, but that is lib32 only, so not an option in KaOS.

Dear demm, please what virtual machine I should use, VMWare Player or Virtual Box or another. Thanks

As in the linked post, install virtualbox and get a virtualbox image.

Seems to work work quit alright on a Windows 7 vbox image on KaOS

unfortunately Qucs is not in the octopi repo & KPC version of KiCAD is not installing. Kindly make available stable EDA packages. It will be helpful to the designers & hobbyists. Personally I use KiCAD & the installation error is giving pain. I really liked KaOS but Kicad seems a drawback of this system... 🙁

Since this older thread Qt 4 is no longer available in KaOS, Qucs is not ported to Qt 5, thus no longer here.
Since another CAD had to be removed too, I will look into KICAD to add as an alternative.

But what is wrong with librecad vs kicad? First is in the repos and Qt 5 based.
