Hello,
I have a few weeks with KaOS in my laptop and my desktop. I'm very happy with it despite a few flaws.
I just upgraded my laptop through Octopi and noticed in the log (output) it installed linux-next despite I didn't have it installed. When I first installed the OS on this laptop I remember reading that if I use the next kernel I must use the -next packages as necessary (in my case, nvidia-bumblebee-next and bbswitch-next) but I choose not to use the next kernel so I installed nvidia-bumblebee and bbswitch and everything worked fine.
I'm afraid my system won't boot after next restart so I'm installing nvidia-bumblebee-next and bbswitch-next. Anyway what seems bad to me is the installation of linux-next that probably will break my system due to the nvidia-bumblebee and bbswitch packages; so I'm reporting in case there is something wrong with Octopi/Upgrade process and hopefully preventing somebody else from breaking their system.
Vlad.
Update: I was able to boot and enter to KDE after reboot, but nvidia card is not working anymore. I'm getting the following when running anything with optirun (which was working previously):
"[ 492.332558] [ERROR]The Bumblebee daemon has not been started yet or the socket path /var/run/bumblebee.socket was incorrect.
[ 492.332592] [ERROR]Could not connect to bumblebee daemon - is it running?"
I'll try to fix it and report.
